| What Do We Do Now? Change Agents For A Better Tomorrow |

The past week I have received multiple calls, emails, and text messages regarding the recent violence and deaths in Louisiana, Minnesota and Dallas. The conversations ranged from feelings of anger, grief, helplessness and hopelessness. And the one question that was ultimately asked in every single conversation was : What is YPN going to do? Answering that question here, I ask : What are YOU going to do? Two years ago, I embarked on a journey with you as President of the Young Professionals Network of the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts (YPN-ULEM) with an overarching goal of Forward Progress. We had just experienced events such as the death of Trayvon Martin, the gutting of the Voting Rights Act, new Jim Crow tactics, "stop and frisk"....and much more. Today, as I begin my 2nd term as your YPN-ULEM President, the work is not done. We must continue to fight for equal rights and respect, for all. Our duty to make our local and global community better than we received it is pressing - now more than ever. And we must realize that to effect real change, marching & hash-tagging are not enough. It is ONLY the START. How can you Be A Change Agent for a better tomorrow? A better tomorrow starts with voter registration & education, economic empowerment, education empowerment, community engagement, criminal justice reform, accountability of our elected officials, more elected officials in local and national levels of government....and much more. YPN-ULEM has, is, and will continue to Be A Change Agent in these areas and your time, talent & treasure is needed to push forward. Listed below are several events where you can take action and Be A Change Agent for a better tomorrow. Your engagement in these events will begin the work and be the action steps necessary to effect the real change that we all seek.
